Job Description

The hiring establishment is engaged in automobile auction operations and seeks to provide an efficient and safe environment for the movement and sale of vehicles. This company is dedicated to supporting vehicle sales through organized events, particularly sale day auctions, which require precise coordination and reliable vehicle handling. The company prides itself on maintaining high safety standards and ensuring that its operations adhere to regulatory requirements and internal guidelines. Their focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service has made them a trusted part of the regional automotive sales industry. This role, based within this dynamic and fast-paced environment, is essential in facilitating the smooth flow of vehicles needed to support the various events and daily operations within the auto auction facility.

The position available is for a Vehicle Operator who will play a critical role in sale day events and general auction operations. Operating vehicles on sale days involves driving, parking, staging, and transporting vehicles as directed around the auto facility and to other designated locations such as customer dealerships. Operators are responsible for ensuring all vehicles are moved safely and efficiently, maintaining an orderly and organized lot, and supporting the staff by transporting operable and inoperable vehicles when necessary.

The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record, and demonstrate a strong understanding of traffic laws and safety protocols to minimize risk during vehicle movement. This is a position ideally suited for individuals who value safety, have excellent attention to detail, and enjoy working independently with minimal supervision. The job offers opportunities for full-time or part-time employment, making it flexible to accommodate different schedules. The wage for this role is competitive at $17.00 per hour and the position presents a temp-to-hire opportunity, indicating potential for long-term employment based on performance.

In addition to adhering to company procedures, the Vehicle Operator must also demonstrate courteous and defensive driving techniques at all times. Driving through busy vehicle lanes during sale days requires alertness, patience, and the ability to follow detailed instructions to keep the event running smoothly and safely for all participants. This role requires punctuality and availability, with scheduled start times on Tuesdays and every other Thursday at 8 AM, coordinating closely with the auction team to prepare for and execute vehicle movement plans effectively. Fluency in reading English or the ability to comprehend motor vehicle traffic signs is necessary to ensure compliance and safety during operations.

Overall, this job is perfect for candidates who are responsible, safety-conscious, and ready to contribute to an important part of vehicle sale event logistics. Vehicle Operators are an essential component of the auction’s success, helping to create a safe, efficient, and customer-friendly environment while supporting other staff by handling vehicles as needed during the event and routine operations. This role can provide valuable experience within the automotive and auction industries and potentially serve as a stepping stone to more advanced positions within the company or related businesses.
