The Room Attendant role at IHG is a vital position responsible for ensuring that guest rooms and suites are consistently fresh, clean, and welcoming. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping. Room Attendants play a crucial role in creating a relaxing and inviting atmosphere for guests returning after a busy day, whether to unwind or attend to last-minute work. The position is physically demanding, requiring stamina and strength to perform duties such as lifting and moving supplies, bending, and kneeling. Shift flexibility is essential, as duties may include working nights, weekends, and holidays. In addition to routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, Room Attendants may assist with deep cleaning projects, turndown service, and other assigned responsibilities. Job Requirements

Physical fitness suitable for standing and moving for most of the day
Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
Willingness to bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding tasks
Basic literacy including reading, writing and basic math skills
Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to follow safety protocols and wear protective equipment
Ability to communicate and coordinate with team members

Job Qualifications

Basic literacy skills including reading, writing and basic math
Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively
Previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required
Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role
Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
Commitment to safety and attention to detail
Positive attitude and willingness to assist guests

Job Duties

Make sure rooms are always at their best and meet established standards
Help guests with requests such as providing toiletries or directions
Keep supervisor updated on room service progress and report repairs
Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment as needed
Manage supplies and amenities while minimizing waste
Log and report lost and found items according to procedures
Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure service quality
Assist with deep cleaning projects and turndown duties as assigned
Perform other ad-hoc duties as required
