The company prides itself on its core values of Show You Care, Do the Right Things, and Win as a Team, which are instrumental in differentiating Swissport from its competitors. Swissport fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace, embracing equal opportunity for all employees and applicants, ensuring a respectful and supportive environment that encourages growth and success.
The role of Assistant General Manager (AGM) for Cargo at Swissport is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing daily cargo operations to guarantee safe, efficient, and timely handling of cargo activities. The AGM will report directly to the General Manager and play a pivotal role in implementing policies and procedures that uphold regulatory compliance and operational standards. This position involves close collaboration with various airport departments and external stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and exceptional service delivery to airlines and customers alike.
In this full-time role, the AGM will lead a diverse team of cargo staff, including supervisors, managers, and frontline employees, fostering an environment that promotes teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement. The AGM will conduct regular performance reviews, provide mentorship, and develop strategies to boost team productivity and morale.
Safety and compliance are paramount in the AGM's responsibilities. The individual will ensure all cargo operations abide by aviation safety regulations and company policies, conduct safety audits, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks. Staying updated on evolving industry standards and integrating best practices into daily operations will be essential to maintaining Swissport's reputation for operational excellence.
Customer service leadership is another key function of the AGM position, focusing on maintaining high service standards and promptly resolving any issues or concerns that arise. The AGM will work closely with airline partners to enhance satisfaction levels and drive initiatives that improve overall operational performance.
Financial management duties include assisting with budget preparation, monitoring expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring efficient resource allocation. The AGM will analyze financial performance, report insights, and make recommendations to optimize operations.
Continuous improvement and innovation are encouraged, with the AGM expected to identify areas for operational enhancements, leverage data and analytics for informed decision-making, and instill a culture of ongoing development within the team. The physical demands of the job include activities such as sitting, talking, hearing, standing, walking, handling, reaching, and occasionally lifting weights up to 25 pounds, accommodating reasonable adjustments where necessary.
Swissport offers a competitive benefits package to full-time employees, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, retirement plans such as a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and vision insurance.
