Job Description

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is a prestigious department within Brown University, an Ivy League institution located in Providence, Rhode Island. Job Requirements

  • successful completion of background check and education verification
  • compliance with NCAA and Ivy League rules and ethical standards
  • ability to work part time with availability for evenings and weekends
  • ability to follow detailed game protocols and instructions
  • enrollment in a high school diploma or equivalent program or higher
  • demonstrated ability to collaborate with various event management teams

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of or demonstrated ability to learn specific game protocol pertaining to Ivy League and NCAA rules
  • ability to observe and react quickly to events on the field, court, or athletic venue
  • willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment
  • availability to work evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • assist with facility setup and breakdown for various sports throughout the academic year
  • knowledge of or demonstrated ability to learn specific game protocol as it pertains to Ivy League and NCAA rules
  • interact and work alongside Athletic Communications staff, Event Management staff, and Marketing and Promotions staff during events
  • serve as ball person for outdoor sports
  • perform floor mop duties during basketball games
  • operate the penalty box during hockey games
  • assist with the distribution of judge scores during gymnastics events
