Church's Chicken is a prominent name in the quick-service restaurant industry, specializing in serving high-quality comfort food that resonates with a diverse customer base. With a legacy spanning over 60 years, Church's Chicken is renowned not only for its delicious offerings but also for fostering a workplace culture that encourages growth, opportunity, and the empowerment of its employees. As a brand, Church's Chicken stands apart from typical fast-food chains by emphasizing real food made with care and dedication. This commitment extends into their operational practices and their approach to employee development, creating an environment where hard-working individuals can thrive and build meaningful careers. Church's Chicken values diversity and inclusion, proudly identifying as an equal opportunity employer and making hiring decisions without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other protected status under applicable laws. This inclusive culture supports a team-oriented atmosphere where respect, training, and growth are prioritized to enable everyone to contribute effectively to the company's mission.
The Assistant General Restaurant Manager (ARGM) role at Church's Chicken is focused on supporting the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) in ensuring the smooth and successful operation of the restaurant. This hands-on management position plays a critical role in overseeing day-to-day activities that contribute to the financial and operational health of the unit. The Assistant General Manager actively participates in implementing company initiatives and programs designed to enhance productivity and profitability. Furthermore, the ARGM assists in achieving or surpassing financial sales and profitability goals, maintaining banking responsibilities, and managing administrative tasks that keep the restaurant functioning efficiently.
This position is ideal for a motivated and experienced restaurant professional who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and possesses leadership skills to manage staff effectively. The ARGM collaborates closely with the general manager to make sure staffing needs are met through careful scheduling and training, particularly during peak business hours. This role requires someone capable of stepping in to support front-line employees during high volume periods, demonstrating strong teamwork and multitasking capabilities. Accurately analyzing profit and loss statements, maintaining precise inventory records, and enforcing company policies and regulatory compliance are integral to this position. The ARGM is responsible for upholding stringent quality and safety standards aligned with Church's Chicken's policies as well as federal, state, and local regulations. They also contribute to cultivating a clean, welcoming, and safe restaurant environment.
Key competencies emphasized for this role include building a strong guest culture by consistently exceeding customer expectations and handling guest concerns promptly and professionally. Additionally, the ARGM is expected to develop a high-performing team by fostering respect, providing coaching and feedback, addressing employee concerns, and ensuring all team members are effectively onboarded and trained. They must demonstrate knowledge of restaurant operations, human resources procedures, and conflict resolution techniques, all while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and results-driven performance. The position typically requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week and availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends. The ability to maintain a positive workplace environment and apply principles of hospitality management ensures that this leadership role contributes significantly to the continued success and growth of Church's Chicken locations.
