The Assistant General Restaurant Manager (ARGM) role at Church's Chicken is a dynamic and hands-on leadership position that supports the Restaurant General Manager in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful implementation of the company’s initiatives, programs, and operational standards. The ARGM plays a key part in supporting the achievement of financial sales goals and profitability plans by managing all banking and administrative duties efficiently. As an essential member of the restaurant management team, the Assistant General Manager is involved in employee training, maintaining adequate staffing levels, preparing work schedules, and lending a helping hand during high-volume periods to ensure smooth operations.

The ARGM is responsible for maintaining accurate records including inventory and financial reports, understanding and enforcing company policies, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding health, safety, and labor. A significant aspect of the role involves sustaining high quality control standards for food preparation and service, maintaining a clean and safe facility, and promoting a positive guest experience through consistent delivery of quality products. Furthermore, the ARGM must foster a strong team culture by coaching and mentoring employees, resolving conflicts, and encouraging a positive and productive work environment.

This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with staff at all levels, from team members to senior management, as well as with customers. The ARGM must be adept at analyzing profit and loss statements, implementing company policies effectively, and driving team performance toward clearly defined goals. The role also emphasizes continuous improvement in customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by utilizing company tools to audit service and safety practices.

Applicants should be prepared to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including weekends and flexible shifts, and must hold a valid driver’s license with proof of insurance. The successful candidate will bring at least one year of supervisory experience in the restaurant industry, a high school diploma or GED, and preferably ServSafe food safety training. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about restaurant management, leadership, and fostering vibrant, high-performing teams while maintaining unwavering standards for quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required
  • Must have 1 year of supervisory experience working in the restaurant industry
  • ServSafe food safety training is highly recommended

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of valid insurance

Job Duties

  • Assists Restaurant General Manager (RGM) in ensuring all employees are trained
  • Assists RGM in maintaining appropriate staffing and prepares weekly schedules
  • Helps staff during high volume periods as needed
  • Assists in administering all paperwork in a timely manner
  • Assists in analyzing profit and loss statements and in meeting established sales plan for unit
  • Maintains and records accurate inventory
  • Understands, enforces and adheres to all company policies and procedures
  • Assists in maintaining all company operations standards and compliance
  • Ensures that federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances are practiced and enforced
  • Maintains a clean facility at all times
  • Delivers consistent, high quality products daily, every shift
  • Performs other duties as assigned
