  • 1-3 years work experience in food preparation preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to perform physical kitchen tasks
  • Willingness to follow health and safety regulations

  • Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food safety practices
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions

Job Duties

  • Perform various semi-skilled kitchen tasks to prepare food for serving including slicing and chopping vegetables, cooking vegetables and meat, mixing pastries, measuring ingredients
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, counters, tables, floors daily in compliance with state health regulations
  • Prepare serving lines by filling steam table wells and arranging pans in correct sequence
  • Serve students and teachers appropriate meal quantities in a friendly manner
  • Keep serving line clean and replenished
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding food content or nutritional value or refer to appropriate personnel
  • Receive supply orders, verify shipment quantities against invoices, store food and supplies, update inventory records to maintain necessary stock levels
