Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited AVMA institution
  • Active or eligible Florida veterinary license
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD licensure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional, positive, and collaborative demeanor with both staff and clients
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and assist with larger patients or equipment as needed

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples
  • interpret results
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed
  • Provide compassionate counsel around pet end-of-life care
  • Maintain thorough and accurate medical records
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and all relevant statutes, policies, and procedures
