Job Description
The Providence Bruins are a professional ice hockey team based in Providence, Rhode Island. They serve as the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the NHL's Boston Bruins, one of the most storied and successful hockey franchises. The Providence Bruins play their home games at the Amica Mutual Pavilion, a modern arena that hosts thousands of fans throughout the hockey season. The affiliation between Boston and Providence has spanned over 30 years, making it one of the longest and most successful player development partnerships in professional hockey. This partnership not only fosters the growth and development of talented athletes but also cultivates a passionate local fan base that supports the team through multiple seasons.
Joining the Providence Bruins team means becoming part of a rich legacy in sports and entertainment, with an organization that values community engagement, player development, and fan experience. The team prides itself on delivering thrilling hockey action and memorable entertainment events for fans of all ages. Beyond hockey, the team is committed to creating career opportunities for individuals who share a passion for the sports and entertainment industry.
The role available is a part-time ticket sales position, offering approximately 25 hours per week with the potential to transition into a full-time opportunity. This position focuses primarily on driving ticket sales by developing new clients across multiple sales platforms. The goal is to maximize revenues for the Providence Bruins as well as other clients represented by the parent agency, PSE Agency. A key responsibility includes promoting season memberships and ticket plans, which are vital to maintaining and growing the team's dedicated audience. This role offers a unique chance for ambitious individuals to sharpen their sales skills within a vibrant sports environment while contributing directly to the success of a respected minor league hockey franchise.
Candidates for this position should possess a strong work ethic, be highly motivated and accountable, and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Because the job involves local client development and community interaction, preference will be given to candidates residing in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. The team fosters an inclusive and energetic work setting, supported by comprehensive training programs designed to equip sales personnel with the tools needed to succeed and advance within the company. Additionally, employees enjoy opportunities for career growth and advancement based on performance and dedication.
As an equal opportunity employer, the Providence Bruins ensure that hiring decisions are made without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status. The organization values diversity and inclusion, promoting a workplace culture where all employees can thrive and contribute to the team’s continued success.
