Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in international air freight or logistics
  • Strong understanding of air freight networks, Incoterms, customs procedures, and documentation
  • Experience in import logistics and compliance protocols
  • Familiarity with ERP and logistics systems such as Infor, SAP, or TMS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including global time zones and occasional weekends
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Lead global air freight operations, managing daily execution, carrier performance, transit times, and cost-effectiveness
  • Support the selection of freight forwarders and air carriers based on competitive pricing, service levels, and available capacity
  • Drive strategic initiatives to optimize routing, reduce landed costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities in air freight logistics
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and support automation and digitalization projects that enhance logistics efficiency
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for air freight issues and act as the internal and external subject matter expert
  • Conduct weekly service review meetings with carriers to monitor KPIs, discuss market trends, and evaluate performance
  • Analyze cost drivers and support rate negotiations and contracts with service providers
  • Ensure compliance with international regulations, including TSA, IATA, CTPAT, and customs requirements
  • Partner cross-functionally with sourcing, planning, customer service, compliance, and warehouse teams to align freight execution with business goals
  • Maintain accurate shipment data in Infor, SAP, Trinium or other systems
  • Document and enforce SOPs to ensure service consistency and compliance across logistics partners
  • Troubleshoot in-transit delays or issues and lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans
  • Monitor and report logistics KPIs, creating dashboards and running reports across various applications to identify performance trends
  • Oversee freight audit processes, resolve exceptions and ensure billing accuracy
  • Track and update shipment status using carrier systems and external platforms
  • Proactively managing upcoming imports, liaising with factories and forwarders to ensure timely movement
