Job Description
Auction.com is the nation’s leading online real estate marketplace, revolutionizing the way properties are bought and sold across the United States. This innovative platform provides access to thousands of real estate listings and auctions, connecting buyers with unique opportunities in residential and commercial properties. As a company rooted in the fast-paced, competitive world of real estate, Auction.com prides itself on its commitment to transparency, efficiency, and customer service excellence. With a dynamic work environment, the company embraces technology and modern marketing techniques to facilitate seamless auction experiences for all stakeholders involved.
As an Associate Auction Coordinator at Auction.com, you will be the public face of the company at live auction events, traditionally held on courthouse steps. This role is pivotal in ensuring auctions run smoothly and successfully, requiring you to interact directly with bidders, local officials, and other stakeholders. Your responsibilities will span welcoming attendees, managing on-site operations, and handling administrative duties related to the auction process. This position demands a blend of professionalism, multitasking ability, and customer service skills to create an educational and engaging auction environment.
This is a part-time employment opportunity headquartered in Amarillo, Texas, with flexibility required to travel within a two-hour radius to attend and manage events. Auction.com offers a competitive hourly pay structure starting at $17.50 during training, with incremental increases up to $30.00 per hour based on skill development and responsibility growth. This compensation reflects the important role Coordinators play in supporting local communities by facilitating real estate transactions that help turn houses into homes.
Working hours will vary, generally encompassing 6 to 12 hours a month, depending on the auction schedule and additional training sessions assigned by your Area or State manager. Each auction day involves 2 to 8 hours of work, including pre-auction preparation and post-auction administrative tasks. Though this job requires flexibility, it does not involve a conventional office setting; you will often be outdoors and on your feet, engaging with the public and local officials in diverse weather conditions. Mileage reimbursement policies and occasional travel arrangements, such as rental cars, are provided to support your duties.
In this role, you will become a subject matter expert on customer resources and company protocols. You will be responsible for collecting detailed bidder information using proprietary Auction.com software, issuing customer receipts, completing event reports, and maintaining the highest level of professionalism throughout each event. Training opportunities and team meetings are integral to your development and will help enhance your auction coordination skills while providing you with a solid foundation in real estate auction operations.
Ideal candidates should have a passion for customer service and experience working in dynamic, face-to-face environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong technical troubleshooting abilities, and excellent communication skills are crucial. You must be adaptable, able to manage several concurrent assignments, and comfortable taking a leadership role during events. Candidates should possess the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be prepared to stand for long durations outside. While prior auction experience is advantageous, it is not a requirement; thorough on-the-job training is provided to equip you for success.
Join Auction.com as an Associate Auction Coordinator and gain valuable professional experience in a unique, fast-paced industry. You will play an essential role in empowering your community by supporting real estate auctions that bring people closer to their dream homes. This position offers a rewarding blend of customer interaction, event management, and career development opportunities, all within the supportive and innovative culture of a market leader in online real estate.
