The institution plays a vital role in Little Rock's cultural community and contributes significantly to the city and state's growing reputation as regional leaders in research, technology transfer, economic development, and job creation. Recognized for its metropolitan research university mission, UA Little Rock offers a dynamic academic and professional environment that fosters growth, diversity, and collaboration.

Within this vibrant educational setting, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Athletics Department is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Athletics Director for Facilities & Event Management. This senior professional staff position is a full-time, regular employment opportunity that does not offer sponsorship and is not classified as a work-study role. Reporting directly to the Director of Athletics, the Associate Athletics Director will be a key member of the Athletics Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing all facets of athletics facilities, daily operations, game-day event management, and capital projects within the department. This role requires adherence to state and federal laws, as well as institutional policies, ensuring that all activities comply with regulatory standards.

The Associate Athletics Director for Facilities & Event Management will lead and manage the operations of multiple athletics venues, including the Jack Stephens Center, Hatcher Wrestling Center, Hogan Field, Coleman Sports Complex, and Donaghey Student Center Natatorium. This leadership role involves coordinating the scheduling and maintenance of these facilities, supervising full-time staff, students, and event-based personnel, and ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for guests attending athletics events. Additionally, the position includes responsibilities such as developing credential systems for events, overseeing security protocols in collaboration with Campus Public Safety, and managing the submission of bids for postseason hosting opportunities.

Capital planning and project management are pivotal aspects of the position. The Associate Athletics Director will spearhead all capital improvement projects related to athletics facilities, serving as a liaison to university committees to facilitate strategic planning and execution of infrastructure enhancements. This role demands strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills, along with the ability to build productive relationships with coaches, colleagues, student-athletes, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent computer proficiency, the capability to work effectively under deadlines, and the flexibility to travel or work outside standard hours when necessary.

Compensation is commensurate with education and experience, and the position is benefits eligible. SAE applicants must submit a cover letter or letter of application, a list of three professional references including names, email addresses, and business titles, as well as a current resume. The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and diverse workforce and encourages applications from all qualified individuals regardless of race, color, national origin, disability, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or other protected status. The university ensures a safe campus environment through comprehensive pre-employment screenings, including criminal background checks and substance abuse testing, among others.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a background in sports management or a related field to take a leadership role within a thriving collegiate athletics program at a metropolitan research university. The University of Arkansas at Little Rock offers a supportive work environment where initiative, collaboration, and excellence are valued and rewarded.
