The role of Server (Dining Room Care Manager) at Sunrise Senior Living Bedford Court is pivotal in delivering excellent dining services tailored to meet the needs of the community's residents. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living
- Food Safety Certification within 90 days of taking the position
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certification
- Maintain ServeSafe certification
- Complete all required training and ongoing re-education as required by Sunrise and state or provincial regulations
- Ability to understand and comply with food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to attend regular meetings and training sessions
- Must comply with occupational health and safety requirements including personal protective equipment and safety procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living
- Food Safety Certification required within 90 days of employment
- CPR and First Aid certification
- ServeSafe certification

Job Duties
- Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe physical and social environment for residents and fellow team members
- Provide dining service training to new care managers
- Maintain knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and provide general descriptions to residents
- Assist residents with menu selections and respond to questions about menu items
- Take meal and beverage orders and serve requested items according to guidelines
- Respond to the dining needs of residents while maintaining hospitality and service standards
- Attend pre-meal briefings to gain knowledge of meal and support activities
- Follow all policies regarding food handling
- Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards
- Perform dining room checklist inspections for cleanliness and readiness
- Maintain side work duties as assigned
- Maintain assigned tables and surrounding area in cleanliness, appearance, and readiness
- Perform dining room set-up and re-set of tables according to procedures
- Support dining room decorum and etiquette standards
- Perform and complete opening and closing checklist criteria
- Assist in tabletop inventories maintenance
- Review and initial the Daily Log to document pertinent information
- Review Resident Diet Book or confidential chart
- Maintain and protect confidentiality of resident information
- Practice safe food handling to prevent food borne illness
- Complete cleaning assignments daily, weekly, and monthly
- Maintain all work areas in a healthy and safe condition
- Assist in dining room organization and supplies placement
- Partner with community team to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements
- Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout procedures
- Participate actively as a team member and work toward team goals
- Demonstrate Team Member Credo in daily interactions
- Commit to serving residents through Principles of Service
- Contribute to overall engagement programs and processes
- Attend regular meetings as directed
- Maintain compliance in required training
- Perform other duties as assigned
