The Assistant Manager role at KFC is a pivotal position designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the restaurant’s operational success while supporting the Restaurant General Manager. The Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring that brand standards are upheld consistently, training and coaching team members, and fostering an environment where exceptional customer experiences are the norm. The position involves overseeing daily restaurant operations during the General Manager’s absence, managing key aspects such as cash control, security, inventory, labor, and financial performance. Candidates for this position should be prepared to work a 50-hour week, which includes 40 hours at regular pay and 10 hours at time and a half, offering a balanced yet rewarding compensation structure.

In this role, the Assistant Manager will actively participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding team members, promoting a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging throughout the workforce. Monitoring team performance, providing constructive and positive feedback, and addressing employee relations issues are critical components of the job. Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Assist with profit and loss management including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, labor management and financial report review
  • Ensure all employees receive proper training and resources
  • Champion KFC's culture and values promoting equity, inclusion and belonging
  • Lead efforts in individual and team recognition collaboration and motivation
  • Identify and recruit exceptional talent supporting the Restaurant General Manager in the hiring process
  • Possess strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals taking disciplinary action and motivating and training employees
  • Adhere to corporate policies procedures and occupational health and food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Experience assisting with profit and loss management including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, labor management and financial report review
  • Proven ability to train and provide resources to employees

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the KFC Connect Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
  • Oversee team members' adherence to shift responsibilities and maintain high food safety standards
  • Take charge of restaurant operations in the Restaurant General Manager's absence
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant General Manager in assessing team performance and providing ongoing constructive and positive feedback
  • Address employee relations issues as they arise, determine immediate resolutions or escalate to the Restaurant General Manager when necessary
  • Assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing and hiring team members while promoting a culture of equity, inclusion and belonging
  • Manage profit and loss aspects including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance and labor management
  • Review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
  • Support the Restaurant General Manager in facility maintenance and ensure consistent health and safety standards are followed
