Job Description

Maytag Aircraft LLC is a distinguished U.S. Government services contractor specializing in providing essential and high-quality operations and maintenance services for aircraft refueling, air terminal management, and ground handling across multiple domestic and international locations. Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, this company operates on a global scale, servicing contracts that extend throughout Asia, Europe, the Mediterranean, and both North and South America. Known for its commitment to delivering exceptional contract services, Maytag Aircraft supports U.S. Government operations worldwide, always ensuring on-time delivery combined with the highest quality standards at fair and reasonable prices.

Maytag Aircraft has established itself as a major provider of aircraft refueling services, as well as air terminal and ground handling services, working closely with the U.S. Department of Defense's Defense Energy Support Center and the Air Force Air Mobility Command. Their core services include refueling and base support, along with extensive air terminal and ground support. This global reach and expertise allow Maytag Aircraft to maintain a strong foothold in the military contracting industry, with a focus on reliability, safety, and effective logistics management.

The role of the Assistant Terminal Manager (ATM) is critical within Maytag Aircraft’s operational framework. The ATM is responsible for managing on-site operations to ensure full compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements. This position demands significant, specialized commercial or military experience in fuel terminal operations and maintenance, akin to an Air Force Fuels Management seven skill level (2F071) or nine skill level (2F091). The ATM’s expertise spans receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping petroleum products via tank truck, pipeline, rail, or tanker/barge, dependent on the installation’s receiving capabilities.

In addition to operational duties, the ATM oversees the maintenance and repair of bulk petroleum storage terminals, systems, and equipment, demonstrating leadership in supervising fuel terminal functions. This role also emphasizes environmental compliance and terminal maintenance as part of supervisory responsibilities. The ATM must have recent supervisory experience, preferably within the fuel terminal operations sector, ensuring adherence to strict safety regulations and operational procedures.

Key to success in this role is a deep understanding of the management and operation of bulk aviation and ground fuel storage and distribution systems, as well as expertise in managing mobile and truck-based hot fuel servicing equipment and facilities. The ATM must be skilled in handling used oil and recyclable jet fuel products and conducting quality surveillance for aviation and ground fuel products relevant to contract needs.

Operational acumen also includes aviation and ground fuel inventory control, adherence to administrative procedures, and a thorough grasp of fuel system maintenance, including preventive maintenance programs. The ATM should be capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and system specifications involved in petroleum facility layouts and fuel distribution systems.

This position requires familiarity with the Fuels Manager computer program and sound fiscal and management decision-making abilities. The ATM will direct diverse personnel and work collaboratively with corporate management and military representatives to maintain contract standards. The role demands a professional who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask efficiently, and maintain high standards of operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
