Job Description

Insomnia Cookies is a rapidly growing bakery and delivery company founded over 20 years ago by Seth Berkowitz. Originating from a college dorm room, the brand has become a beloved name among cookie lovers nationwide, known for delivering fresh, warm cookies late into the night. With a footprint of more than 300 stores globally and a headquarters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Insomnia Cookies blends an experiential, easygoing retail concept with a strong delivery model and a nationwide shipping and gifting portfolio. The company has created a unique niche in the bakery delivery market, blending convenience, quality, and customer delight through innovative operations and passionate team leadership.

The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) position at the Stephenville, TX store located at 1136 W. Washington Street, offers an exciting leadership opportunity within a company committed to developing the next generation of bakery leaders. This full-time, hourly role is designed as a leadership pipeline position that prepares employees to step into full Bakery Operations Manager (BOM) responsibilities. The ABOM role requires a blend of hands-on bakery operational expertise, talent development, administrative knowledge, and team leadership. ABOMs are expected to perform at nearly the same level as the BOM, ensuring all bakery operational standards are met with urgency, accuracy, and accountability. This includes managing inventory rotation, supporting staffing and scheduling, maintaining high product quality, cleanliness, and food safety standards, and fostering an excellent guest experience.

In addition to operational execution, the ABOM plays a crucial role in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and developing baking team members. They provide ongoing coaching and feedback to help team members grow and succeed, while holding them accountable to company standards. The ABOM also acts as a key operational leader who can independently manage bakery operations in the absence of the BOM, ensuring continuity and stability during transitions or staffing shortages. By embodying urgency, accountability, and operational discipline, the ABOM supports the broader leadership team’s efforts to close operational gaps and maintain high performance.

Success in this role means mastering BOM-level administrative and operational tasks, achieving full staffing and training compliance, fostering a strong accountability-driven culture, and demonstrating readiness for promotion to the Bakery Operations Manager position. This role is ideal for individuals eager to advance their leadership skills in the food service and bakery industry, within a vibrant and fast-paced company culture. Employees enjoy competitive pay with bonus eligibility, medical, dental, and vision insurance options, pet insurance, paid vacation and wellness days, career development opportunities, free cookies with every shift, and the chance to be part of a committed and energetic team passionate about delivering exceptional cookie experiences.
