- Precise mental math skills
- Ability to handle equipment troubleshooting and task delegation effectively.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a customer service role preferred
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership or supervisory experience is an asset
- Basic knowledge of retail operations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
- Teamwork and mentoring abilities

Job Duties
- Lead, communicate, and champion Black Rock Coffee Bar's values, policies, and procedures
- Model exceptional customer service for the team
- Establish effective and positive team communication through various channels
- Maintain adequate shift coverage as the active leader on shift, including arranging for shift coverage in case of absences and ensure adherence to meal and rest period policies
- Assist in planning and executing sales promotions as assigned by the Marketing department
- Support successful store operations focusing on Sales, People, Operations, and Cost Balancing (SPOC)
- Promote and ensure safe work practices, reporting incidents to the Store Lead
- Work a minimum of 30 hours on the bar per week
- Support Store Lead in hiring, onboarding, and training processes
- Assist with off-bar duties including leadership task checklists, approving timecards, and money management
- Troubleshoot equipment and address team member concerns proactively
- Assist in inventory management including orders, counters, and product runs
- Attend leadership meetings as required
- Welcome customers and team members warmly to ensure a positive environment
- Abide by service speed requirements without compromising quality
- Prepare and serve coffee and food items using retail equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work and customer areas following safety guidelines
- Promote new coffee offerings and seasonal specials
- Handle accurate cash and credit transactions, including daily cash deposits
- Support training initiatives and mentor new team members
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly tasks assigned by leadership
- Handle customer complaints professionally and promptly
- Assist in inventory management and restocking
- Conduct line busting during peak periods
- Work independently with self-directed initiative
- Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
