Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years culinary or food and beverage experience or 2-year degree with 3 years' experience
  • Ability to lead and manage a culinary team
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in managing kitchen operations and budgets
  • Capability to work flexible hours including high demand periods
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide stellar guest service

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field
  • 5 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area or 3 years experience with a 2-year degree
  • Proven culinary skills and knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in menu development and food presentation
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments
  • Skilled in employee coaching, mentoring, and performance appraisal
  • Capable of managing budgets and inventory effectively
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service and handling complaints professionally
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with loss prevention and safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Develops, designs, or creates new culinary applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products
  • Maintains food handling and sanitation standards
  • Ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms
  • Oversees production and preparation of culinary items
  • Coordinates with restaurant and banquet departments to ensure service and timing of events
  • Communicates areas in need of attention to staff and ensures follow-through
  • Supports new menus, concepts, and promotions for restaurant outlets and banquets
  • Assists with food presentation and creates decorative food displays
  • Prepares and cooks foods for regular or special events
  • Checks raw and cooked food quality to meet standards
  • Ensures and maintains productivity levels of culinary employees
  • Coordinates activities of cooks and kitchen workers
  • Leads shifts while preparing food and executing requests
  • Handles employee questions, concerns, and developmental needs
  • Conducts employee performance appraisals and training
  • Monitors staffing levels and manages food and supply inventories
  • Places orders and manages budgets
  • Provides exceptional customer service and addresses guest concerns
  • Communicates and assists team to understand guest needs
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent service
  • Provides information to supervisors and co-workers
  • Analyzes information to solve problems
  • Complies with loss prevention policies and procedures
  • Reports equipment malfunctions
