This role requires a hands-on approach in managing staff through hiring, scheduling, training, counseling, and motivating employees to achieve their best. The Assistant Manager will conduct daily pre-shift meetings and ongoing training sessions to keep the team informed and aligned with the restaurant’s service expectations.

Beyond operational duties, the Assistant Manager is also tasked with administrative responsibilities such as completing paperwork, daily reports, and financial analysis necessary for the restaurant’s success. Emphasis is placed on maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards through proper sanitation methods. Communicative professionalism is expected in all electronic correspondence and operational communications. The role also involves ensuring adequate staffing levels to control labor costs and following both departmental and corporate policies faithfully.

Job Requirements

  • Two years prior high-volume restaurant assistant manager or supervisory experience required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in written form
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
  • Knowledge of restaurant menu through mandatory testing
  • Previous experience managing staff in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to maintain service standards under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Two years prior assistant manager or supervisory experience preferred
  • Two years prior high-volume restaurant assistant manager or supervisory experience required
  • Communicate effectively in English both verbally and written forms
  • Must possess basic computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
  • Mandatory testing on restaurant menu knowledge

Job Duties

  • Constantly monitor service levels on the dining room floor and adjust staffing as needed
  • Maintain Food Line Check to constantly ensure ticket times meet property established standards
  • Complete paperwork, daily reports and all other necessary financial analysis for the restaurant
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by approaching every table and making sure the guest dining expectations have been achieved
  • Order products and supplies for the Snack Bars
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and regular staff training meetings
  • Manage and lead staff including hiring, scheduling, employee counseling and commendations
