Job Description

Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center is a well-established community-focused organization located in Seattle, WA, dedicated to promoting rowing and sailing education and recreational opportunities. Job Requirements

  • at least 1 year of experience teaching dinghy racing sailing
  • cpr and first aid training within one month of hire
  • washington boaters education certification before beginning employment
  • ability to pass a 10 minute float test
  • passion for sailing and teaching
  • excellent communication and organizational skills

  • youth coaching experience highly preferred
  • US Sailing Level 1 preferred
  • CPR and First Aid training required within one month of hire

Job Duties

  • support the head instructor with learn to race sailing team training
  • coach youth sailors ages 8 through high school seniors in dinghy racing
  • conduct training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM
  • instruct in sailing skills using Optis, Lasers, and FJs
  • ensure safety and adherence to protocols during all sailing sessions
  • assist with boat and facility maintenance as needed
  • foster a positive and encouraging learning environment
