Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned and widely recognized American fast-food restaurant chain specializing in Chinese cuisine. Established in 1983, Panda Express has grown to become the largest Asian dining concept in the United States, operating hundreds of locations across the country and around the world. Known for its commitment to high-quality ingredients, flavorful dishes, and efficient service, Panda Express caters to a broad customer base looking for quick, delicious meals. Whether situated in malls, food courts, or busy transit hubs like airports, the brand maintains a consistent dedication to guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
The role we are offering is for an Assistant Manager position at the Salt Lake City Airport (SLC) location. This is a unique opportunity to join a vibrant and fast-paced environment where retail and customer service merge seamlessly in a busy airport setting. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in managing the retail operation, ensuring smooth daily functions, and leading a team of dedicated Retail Travel Experts. This position offers an annual salary ranging from $55,000 to $63,000, along with a chance to earn quarterly bonuses and a year-end super bonus. Beyond monetary rewards, the position provides extensive career progression opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package, designed to support the employee's well-being and professional growth.
The selected candidate must attend a paid 6-week training course with Panda Express at a nearby street side location right after being hired. This is an excellent chance to gain in-depth knowledge of Panda Express’s operational standards and customer service excellence. The role demands a blend of leadership and interpersonal skills, proficiency with systems and procedures, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. Duties range from managing team performance, recruiting and training staff, maintaining merchandising standards, overseeing office management tasks such as payroll and inventory, to forecasting sales and addressing challenges. The Assistant Manager not only ensures compliance with company policies but also actively contributes to the brand’s reputation by sustaining high standards of guest service.
Joining Panda Express at the Salt Lake City Airport means working in a fast-paced and exciting setting, ideal for those passionate about retail and leadership within the food service industry. The position provides competitive compensation and a host of benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance plans, paid time off, and a 401K plan with company match. Furthermore, SSP, Panda Express's parent operator, emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, fostering a workplace culture where all employees feel valued and motivated. For professionals seeking to develop their career in restaurant management within a supportive, energetic environment, this role presents an exciting and fulfilling path.
