Currently, SSP America is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join its team at the Dane County Regional Airport (MSN). This full-time role offers a competitive salary between $55,000 and $60,000 per year, with additional opportunities for quarterly bonuses and a year-end super bonus. The position involves overseeing and managing all restaurant and customer service activities, ensuring that brand standards and guest service levels are consistently maintained to provide outstanding visitor experiences in a fast-paced airport environment.

The Assistant Restaurant Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training, and leading a team of Food Travel Experts. The role requires effective supervision, including evaluating team member performance, providing feedback, implementing disciplinary actions where needed, and fostering a collaborative and efficient work culture. The individual will manage daily operations including merchandising, inventory oversight, purchasing, payroll, scheduling, and office management tasks such as managing receiving and budget forecasting based on sales performance analysis. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the role demands interaction with diverse hourly team members, executives, union representatives, and customers, ensuring resolution of any discomfort or conflicts promptly and professionally.

This role is ideal for individuals with at least two years of experience in restaurant management or supervisory positions within the food service industry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in computers, including MS Office applications and point-of-sale (POS) systems, and possess the organizational maturity to prioritize multiple tasks daily. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with preference given to candidates holding an associate's degree or equivalent coursework.

Job Duties

  • Manage and supervise team member performance through follow-up and feedback including disciplinary action

  • Develop plan and assign daily goals and tasks to team members
  • Implement and maintain guest service standards and brand specifications
  • Maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Manage merchandising displays and monitor inventory levels
  • Handle receiving inventory purchasing scheduling and payroll
  • Assist in sales performance analysis and budgeting
  • Address routine issues and escalate complex problems as needed
