The Assistant Manager role at CEC Entertainment offers a high-energy and rewarding opportunity to lead a team in the beloved family entertainment industry. This position is essential to ensuring that "every guest leaves happy" by making daily decisions on staff scheduling, operational cleanliness, and guest service standards. The Assistant Manager is responsible for building sales and maximizing profits through effective recruitment, training, development, and motivation of their team to meet company and guest expectations. Key focus areas include coaching the team to deliver outstanding guest service and maintaining a safe, clean, and smoothly run environment.
The role demands an understanding of cost control, inventory management, financials, and labor management. Assistant Managers take ownership of an "Area of Impact" (AOI), rotating through one of four areas: The Kitchen, Sales, Showroom, or Gameroom. In The Kitchen, responsibilities include managing product ordering, food safety, scheduling, cleanliness, pizza dough preparation from scratch, and cooking Chuck E. Cheese menu items. The Sales AOI involves overseeing the Cashier, Salad Bar, and Gift Shop, monitoring sales results including upselling and suggestive selling, inventory management, ordering, and profitability of the merchandise area, as well as quality assurance for the Salad Bar.
In the Showroom AOI, the Assistant Manager leads birthday party execution and planning, aiming to maximize party bookings and guest satisfaction while optimizing showroom seating. In the Gameroom AOI, the Assistant Manager partners with the Technical Manager to maintain game and restaurant equipment in excellent condition, analyze gameplay data and ticket payouts, and ensure the gameroom and surrounding areas are clean and guest-ready.
Compensation ranges from $18.40 to $20.45 hourly, with commission potential based on memberships and fun pass sales. This is a full-time role requiring the ability to work 40 hours per week, with a requirement that the candidate be at least 21 years old or meet the local legal age requirements for alcohol service. CEC Entertainment supports employee growth with job training and career advancement prospects and provides a comprehensive package of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
