Job Description
et al. in Kahala Mkt. is a distinguished restaurant located in Honolulu, HI, renowned for its commitment to offering exceptional dining experiences in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. As a part of Honolulu’s dynamic culinary scene, et al. prides itself on its innovative approach to food and beverage, combining creative cuisine with attentive customer service to create memorable moments for every guest. Bringing together a team of passionate professionals, the restaurant fosters a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning that aligns with its mission to deliver outstanding food experiences.
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team in a full-time capacity with a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 per year. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the Restaurant Manager and ensuring the seamless operation of the restaurant. The ideal candidate will bring high energy, creativity, and robust management experience within the restaurant industry, paired with extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations and strong financial management capabilities.
The Assistant Restaurant Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations, upholding the highest standards of guest service for both dine-in and takeout experiences, and maintaining a professional and organized work environment. This leadership role requires a hands-on approach to managing staff, resolving guest complaints proactively, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. You will be expected to promote a positive culture built on integrity, respect, professionalism, and teamwork, while also focusing on staff development and morale.
The position demands strong communication skills to effectively liaise with kitchen and bar teams, as well as proficiency in restaurant management software such as OpenTable and NCR Silver Pro. Financial management is a critical aspect, where you will monitor sales, budgets, and labor costs to consistently meet or exceed business goals. The ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, high-volume environment is essential, as is a passion for food and beverage excellence.
This role offers the opportunity to influence the guest experience directly through proactive engagement with customers and by setting a positive example of exceptional service standards. You will play a vital role in training, coaching, and mentoring staff, reinforcing company values, and supporting operational excellence.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Assistant Restaurant Manager will handle various human resource activities, including performance management, training initiatives, and employee communication. Attendance at department meetings and contribution to organizational goals are also expected. Physical demands require the ability to stay active throughout shifts, including lifting up to 50 lbs and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate business needs.
At et al., we value diversity and inclusion and are committed to providing equal employment opportunities. We encourage candidates with diverse backgrounds to apply and become part of a team dedicated to hospitality excellence and customer satisfaction.
