This role is for the Assistant Restaurant Leader, a pivotal position responsible for supporting the Restaurant Leader with the daily operations of the restaurant. This position calls for leadership within a busy and fast-moving kitchen and dining environment, requiring strong interpersonal skills to maintain high service standards and reinforce company culture. The Assistant Restaurant Leader ensures that all operations meet Raising Cane’s strict standards in food safety, customer service, team development, and overall restaurant cleanliness and organization. This role also entails hands-on management, including hiring, training, scheduling, payroll processes, cash handling, and performance management of hourly crewmembers. It is an active role that demands physical stamina, as it involves extended periods of standing, walking, lifting, and bending, along with exposure to various temperatures and equipment within the restaurant.
The salary range for this position starts at $60,000 to $70,000 base pay, with the opportunity to participate in Raising Cane’s Restaurant Monthly Incentive Program. This incentive plan can increase the Total Target Cash earnings from $75,000 to $85,000 based on restaurant profitability and individual eligibility, providing a competitive compensation package. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
- proficient in Microsoft Office
- strong communication skills
- able to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends
- able to travel for work functions and training
- able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- valid driver’s license
Job Qualifications

- 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
- new restaurant opening experience preferred
- detail-oriented and organized
- strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties
- Hire and terminate all hourly non-management crewmembers
- own the onboarding, status change and payroll process for all hourly crewmembers
- create crewmember work and training schedules
- manage the performance of all hourly crewmembers including development, coaching, documenting and performance management
- act as manager on duty and open and close the restaurant
- manage cash handling and ensure accountability
- enforce Raising Cane’s policies and standards
- execute shift management meeting Raising Cane’s operations and safety standards
- use required tools, forms and logs to support shift execution, document results and take corrective action when needed
- deploy crewmembers during a shift
- provide exemplary customer service
- utilize reward and recognition program for crewmembers in the restaurant
- authorize employee functions requiring manager approval such as discounts, promotions, and timeclock overrides
- ensure cleanliness of the restaurant and ensure the facility is in good working order
- complete other duties as assigned
