This position requires strong leadership skills, as the Assistant Restaurant Leader handles critical tasks such as hiring and terminating hourly non-management crewmembers and managing their onboarding process, payroll, and training schedules. The role also requires performance management responsibilities, including coaching, development, and documentation to enhance team efficiency and morale. Acting as the manager on duty entails opening and closing the restaurant while overseeing cash handling and ensuring accountability.
Furthermore, the Assistant Restaurant Leader enforces company policies and standards rigorously and conducts shift management operations focused on performance and safety. They utilize various tools, forms, and logs to monitor shift execution and take corrective actions as necessary. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent required some college preferred
- Three plus years of restaurant or retail management experience
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Able to work a variety of shifts including days evenings and weekends
- Able to travel as needed for work related functions and training
- Detail oriented organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
- Self driven flexible and highly energetic with strong analytical written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
- Able to recognize and analyze problems set goals create plans and convert plans into action to solve problems
- Proficient in a variety of technology systems including Microsoft Office Excel Word and Outlook and ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly
Job Qualifications
- Three plus years of restaurant or retail management experience
- New restaurant opening experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required some college preferred
- Proven leadership ability and experience managing staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel Word and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems
- Experience with cash handling and accountability
Job Duties
- Hires and terminates all hourly non-management crewmembers
- Owns the onboarding status change and payroll process for all hourly crewmembers
- Creates crewmember work and training schedules
- Manages the performance of all hourly crewmembers including development coaching redirective communication and documentation
- Acts as manager on duty and opens and closes the restaurant
- Manages cash handling and ensures accountability
- Enforces Raising Cane’s policies and standards
- Executes shift management meeting Raising Cane’s operations and safety standards
- Uses required tools forms and logs to support shift execution document results and take corrective action when needed
- Deploys crewmembers during a shift
- Provides exemplary customer service
- Utilizes reward and recognition program for the crewmembers in the restaurant
- Authorizes employee functions requiring manager approval such as discounts promotions timeclock overrides
- Ensures cleanliness of the restaurant and ensures the facility is in good working order
- Completes other duties as assigned
