Job Requirements

  • Must have four years of experience in pastry production including two years in a supervisory capacity
  • Must be able to communicate, read and write English fluently
  • Must have advanced pastry and dessert knowledge
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain necessary licenses and work cards
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must have knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Able to communicate, read and write in English fluently and professionally
  • Second language a plus
  • Four years' experience in a high volume/high quality pastry production kitchen
  • Minimum of two years in a supervisory role
  • Banquet and catering pastry training degree preferred
  • Culinary/pastry training degree preferred but not required
  • Advanced knowledge of pastries and desserts, sanitation and cost control
  • Ability to manage all aspects of a pastry operation
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team environment
  • Able to obtain and maintain any required licensing or work cards

Job Duties

  • Supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of cost control
  • Completing inventories and food requisitions
  • Managing and training kitchen staff
  • Supporting the Chef de Parties and cooks if necessary
  • Supervising the production of pastries and desserts for outlets
  • Ensuring food quality according to department standards
  • Ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with health department standards
