The role offered is that of a Pastry Cook who will be an integral part of the culinary team responsible for preparing high-quality and consistent pastries while continuously striving to enhance both guest and employee satisfaction. The position requires creative baking and decorating skills, ensuring all pastries meet exceptional culinary standards and comply with sanitation and food safety regulations. The Pastry Cook will work closely with the Executive Chef and other team members to develop new pastry ideas, maintain quality, and uphold presentation standards aligned with The Ritz-Carlton's celebrated Gold Standards. The role involves leadership aspects, including assisting in managing the pastry team, coordinating daily operations, and demonstrating exemplary behaviors that encourage mutual trust and cooperation among the team. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience or 2-year degree with 1 year experience
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage pastry operations
- Knowledge of food handling, storage, and safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- or 2-year degree from accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field
- 1 year experience in culinary or food and beverage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Leadership experience and ability to manage team operations
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to develop innovative pastry creations
Job Duties
- Manages all day-to-day operations of the pastry team
- Coordinates activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation
- Develops and creates new ideas and items for the pastry kitchen
