Job Requirements

  • Culinary associates degree or 2 years relevant kitchen experience
  • certified in food safety (serve safe, certified food handler card)
  • reliable and predictable attendance required
  • able to work in a busy environment while maintaining organization, attention to detail and focusing on cleanliness
  • ability to be on feet for up to 100% of the prescribed shift
  • ability to lift 50 pounds, able to stand, bend, stoop, twist and turn for prolonged periods of time
  • able to work inside and outside various times of the year
  • willing to work holidays, weekends and evenings

Job Duties

  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • prepares pastries, baked goods and other items for banquet and a la carte functions
  • supports savory production needs when applicable
  • cleans equipment and ensures that pastry area refrigerator and walk-in are clean and neat
  • sets-up, maintains and breaks down pastry prep station
  • identifies products needed and requisitions them
  • notifies executive chef or pastry chef in advance of product shortages
  • maintains safety and security in work area
  • maintains neat professional appearance
  • adheres to state and local health and safety standards
  • maintains the highest sanitary standards
  • ensures that work station and equipment are clean and sanitary
  • covers, dates and neatly stores re-usable leftover products
  • ensures that food products are used before they spoil
  • attends staff meetings
  • prepares and serves items in accordance with established portion and presentation standards
  • makes recommendations for the maintenance, repair and upkeep of the pastry areas and equipment
  • assists with other duties as instructed by the executive chef and pastry chef
