Job Description

CLEAR is a pioneering technology company transforming the way people experience identity verification and security screening in airports, stadiums, and other venues. With a mission to create frictionless experiences where every day feels seamless and effortless, CLEAR serves more than 30 million passionate members worldwide through its innovative identity platform. CLEAR works with hundreds of partners globally to improve how people live, work, and travel by connecting individuals to what makes them unique through secure and efficient identity solutions. The company is dedicated to providing a safer, faster, and more convenient way to move through life’s necessary but often time-consuming safety and security measures.

The role of Assistant Operations Manager at CLEAR is an exciting leadership opportunity based at the airport, reporting directly to the General Manager. As a key member of the airport leadership team, the Assistant Operations Manager plays an instrumental role in leading and driving the daily floor operations at the assigned station. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, exhibiting a hands-on leadership approach to coach and guide the teams around security, customer service, and sales. With roughly 80 percent of the role spent on the floor in a customer-facing environment, this position demands a proactive manager who is engaged, energetic, and focused on delivering exceptional service aligned with CLEAR’s high standards.

This position centers on ensuring the consistent application of CLEAR and TSA policies and procedures with a strong emphasis on security and integrity. The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for monitoring and advancing security, service, and sales performance for every shift, conducting shift briefings and debriefs, managing team huddles, and handling changes such as breaks or rotations. Coaching, mentoring, and training the operational team to meet and exceed sales and customer service goals is a key part of this role, emphasizing team development and operational excellence.

Technology and asset management are important aspects of the role. The Assistant Operations Manager oversees asset control and understands the technological tools deployed within the operation, troubleshooting issues as needed to maintain smooth daily functions. Representing CLEAR to airport, TSA, and airline stakeholders is crucial, as building trusted relationships within this community supports operational success and partnership alignment.

In addition to operational leadership, the role involves managing incident prevention and response, participating actively in station management team meetings, and ensuring compliance with airport, state, federal, and CLEAR regulations. Candidates must be ready to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings, while maintaining a strong physical presence by standing and walking for extended periods. The position requires successful completion of all required airport and government security screening processes, including SIDA badge eligibility and potentially federal Personnel Security screening (SF-85).

This is an ideal position for individuals with 1-2 years of leadership experience in customer-facing environments such as retail, restaurants, hospitality, or rental car operations. Candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong ability to motivate and mentor teams, and outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-evolving environment. Proficiency with daily use of technology in operations and a commitment to following policies and procedures is essential.

Working at CLEAR means joining a forward-thinking company that values accessibility and inclusion, providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities or protected needs. The Assistant Operations Manager role offers an opportunity to be a pivotal part of a company redefining travel and security experiences, delivering 'green light' moments to millions each day.
