Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Basic knowledge of math, weights and measures
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience
  • Proven leadership experience
  • 2-3 years grocery retail experience in meat department is highly preferred
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Outgoing and friendly behavior
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to take direction
  • Participate in a team environment
  • Perform general housekeeping and sanitation
  • Adhere to safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
  • Capable of standing for up to 4 hours continuously and a total of 8 hours per shift
  • Walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours
  • Able to work inside temperature controlled area
  • Possess good vision for using sharp knives and equipment
  • Able to lift/carry 25 to 90 lbs
  • Use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs
  • Move racks and tables within specified weight and force limits

  • Capable of standing for long periods and walking up to 2 miles during an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments

Job Duties

  • Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Meat & Seafood team
  • Effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
  • Assist in leading a team that delivers the finest quality products, highest level of service, and superior customer experiences
  • Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Meat & Seafood team
  • Manage weekly ad items inventory and ordering
  • Enforce department practices regarding receiving, stocking, and unloading to ensure freshness and quality
  • Operate and maintain meat & seafood equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations
