Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum two years related experience and/or training
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • physical capability to perform assigned duties safely
  • commitment to food safety standards
  • valid journey Meat Cutter Training
  • valid state Food Handlers Permit
  • valid driver’s license or state ID
  • ability to lead and supervise associates
  • willingness to adhere to company policies and safety procedures
  • ability to work varying shifts punctually
  • ability to handle physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • minimum two years of related experience or training
  • ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents
  • effective communication skills
  • proficiency in basic math including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
  • practical problem-solving skills
  • journey level cutting and wrapping expertise
  • valid state Food Handler's Permit
  • journey Meat Cutter Training certificate
  • valid driver’s license or state ID card
  • commitment to safety and food handling standards
  • ability to train and lead others
  • familiarity with equipment such as slicers, saws, grinders, and vacuum pack machines
  • willingness to participate in company training programs

Job Duties

  • Reporting for assigned shifts on time and prepared
  • promoting sales through active guest engagement and product recommendations
  • performing inventory, sales, and bookwork to monitor financial performance
  • merchandising products to boost sales
  • practicing Active Managerial Control of food safety standards
  • directing and participating in cutting, trimming, boning, cleaning, and wrapping meats and seafood
  • providing in-service training to new personnel
  • using equipment such as slicers, grinders, and vacuum pack machines safely
  • empowering associates with guest service initiatives
  • ensuring compliance with safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations
  • participating in accident reduction and safety plans
  • managing Meat/Seafood Department associates in the absence of the manager
  • supervising and evaluating the activities of department associates
  • enforcing company policies and addressing associate issues
