Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major
  • 1 year experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related area
  • Ability to operate department equipment
  • Understanding night audit procedures
  • Ability to manage schedules and attendance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of loss prevention policies
  • Ability to handle guest and employee concerns professionally

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Opens and closes Front Desk shifts and Housekeeping ensuring completion of assigned shift checklist and other duties
  • Runs and reviews critical information contained in room operations reports
  • Understands the functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, AYS, Front Desk and Concierge/Guest Services operations
  • Operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunctions
  • Ensures employees have the proper supplies and uniforms
  • Understands night audit procedures and utilizes reports as necessary
  • Complies with loss prevention policies and procedures
  • Communicates performance expectations to employees according to job descriptions
  • Handles employee questions and concerns
  • Schedules employees effectively according to business demands and tracks attendance
  • Supervises same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and property occupancy
  • Verifies room rate accuracy to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Uses budgets, operating statements and payroll progress reports to assist management
  • Participates in management of departmental controllable expenses
  • Understands impact of Room Operations on overall property financial goals
  • Assists in investigation of employee and guest accidents
  • Uses guest information tracking system to support a repeat guest recognition program
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback and handles complaints effectively
  • Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
