The Rooms Operations Manager at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street plays a pivotal role in supporting and managing daily operational activities across several departments including Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff, AYS, Concierge, and Guest Services. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years experience in guest services or related field OR 2-year degree in hospitality or related major with minimum 1 year experience
- Ability to work full-time
- Willingness to work onsite at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, Florida
- Ability to perform operational and management duties
- Effective communication skills
- Proficient in scheduling and managing staff
- Familiar with night audit and loss prevention policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related area
- OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with 1 year experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related area
- Knowledge of rooms operations and hospitality standards
- Ability to operate relevant department equipment
- Understanding of night audit and loss prevention procedures
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience in scheduling and managing staff
- Ability to handle guest relations effectively
Job Duties
- Open and close front desk and housekeeping shifts ensuring completion of shift checklist
- Run and review critical room operations reports
- Operate department equipment and report malfunctions
- Ensure employees have proper supplies and uniforms
- Understand and comply with night audit procedures
- Follow loss prevention policies and procedures
- Communicate performance expectations and handle employee questions and concerns
- Schedule employees according to business demands and track time and attendance
- Supervise same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and occupancy
- Verify room rates accuracy
- Use budgets, operating statements and payroll reports to assist room operations management
- Participate in controlling departmental expenses
- Assist in investigating employee and guest accidents
- Support guest recognition program and interact with guests for feedback
- Assist in reviewing guest satisfaction results with employees
