With nearly 2,300 locations across the globe, Panda Express has grown from a humble operation into a beloved leader in the fast-casual dining industry. The company's mission is centered around delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering an organization where employees are inspired to improve their lives both personally and professionally. Panda Express prides itself on upholding family values and building a supportive community for its associates. They are committed to inclusivity and equal opportunity employment, maintaining a workplace free from discrimination based on race, gender, disability, or other protected characteristics.\n\nThe Assistant Manager role at Panda Express offers a unique opportunity to step into a leadership position within a well-established and respected brand. This role involves the comprehensive management of a single restaurant store, focusing on both operational excellence and customer satisfaction. As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, managing, and directing the team of associates to achieve the store’s financial goals and deliver outstanding guest experiences. A core part of this position is leading by example and ensuring that the store operates smoothly and successfully in line with Panda Express's high standards.\n\nCandidates stepping into this leadership role will receive over three weeks of intensive store leadership training designed to prepare them for success. This training is supported by hands-on mentorship from experienced leaders and a Panda community dedicated to employee growth. The job demands flexibility, including the ability to work in locations within a 50-mile radius and to cover varied work schedules, including weekends. The role also requires the candidate to manage various operational tasks including maintaining food safety standards, particularly being Serve Safe certified, and ensuring the physical tasks involved in the position such as lifting, standing, and working in hot, busy kitchen environments are manageable.\n\nThe role is compensated competitively, with wages ranging from $24.50 to $27.50 per hour depending on location and experience. Additionally, Panda Express offers a generous compensation package along with various bonus opportunities. Beyond financial rewards, employees benefit from comprehensive healthcare plans including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as voluntary insurance options such as short-term disability and cancer income protection. Panda Express also supports its associates with programs including a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, pre-tax dependent care flexible spending accounts, paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement leave, and a leave share program.\n\nAdditional perks include free meals during work shifts, discounts on theme parks and gym memberships, opportunities for continuous education assistance and scholarships, and a lucrative associate referral bonus. The company also emphasizes community involvement, allowing associates to give back locally, and provides ongoing career and leadership development to ensure employees can grow into higher management roles within the Panda Restaurant Group. Through its strong training programs and commitment to career advancement, Panda Express encourages its team members to build rewarding and sustainable careers with the company.
