Job Description

Panda Express, established in 1983 in Glendale, California, has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, boasting nearly 2,300 locations worldwide. This thriving enterprise prides itself on its commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a family-oriented organizational culture. Panda Express is dedicated not just to the culinary delight of its customers but also to the professional and personal development of its associates. With a strong emphasis on inclusive values and community involvement, Panda Express creates an environment where employees are encouraged to grow and succeed within a supportive and dynamic workplace.

The company is currently seeking experienced leaders to join its store management team as Assistant Managers. This role is integral to the daily operations and success of a single store, requiring a leader who is passionate about people management, operational excellence, and delivering high-quality guest experiences. Assistant Managers are entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing associate hiring, providing guidance and direction to staff, and achieving financial objectives. Panda Express demonstrates its commitment to its leaders by offering a comprehensive store management leadership training program lasting three or more weeks. This training is designed to equip new hires with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles from day one.

In this role, candidates will experience hands-on leadership development, paired with ongoing career growth opportunities. The position offers a flexible work schedule that includes weekends and the possibility of working within a 50-mile radius of the store's location. A key part of the role also involves maintaining food safety standards, for which candidates must be Serve Safe certified. Panda Express values employees' well-being and provides a generous compensation package accompanied by bonus opportunities and extensive benefits. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; voluntary short-term disability; cancer income protection; pre-tax dependent care flexible spending accounts; 401K retirement plans with company match; paid time off and holidays; discounts at various recreational venues; and opportunities for continuous education assistance and scholarships.

The environment at Panda Express requires individuals who are capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Employees should be comfortable handling physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using specialized kitchen equipment safely. Panda Express is not only committed to excellence in customer service but also ensures equal employment opportunities for all applicants, fostering diversity and inclusivity across all levels of the organization. By joining Panda Express as an Assistant Manager, candidates will become part of a company that not only values leadership and operational skills but also prioritizes career advancement, education, and community engagement.
