Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the American Chinese restaurant industry, recognized as the largest family-owned Asian dining concept in America, with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. Founded in Glendale, California, in 1983, Panda Express has built its reputation by delivering exceptional dining experiences through a commitment to quality, innovation, and community engagement. The company emphasizes the values of family, teamwork, and personal development, creating a supportive environment for its associates. As a rapidly expanding organization, Panda Express continues to prioritize the growth and success of its team members, ensuring they have the resources and training necessary to excel in their careers.
The role of Assistant Manager at Panda Express is a vital leadership position within the store management team. This role involves assisting with the overall operation of a single store, including hiring, managing, and directing associates to meet financial goals and uphold high standards of guest service. The Assistant Manager plays a critical part in the success of the store by maintaining operational excellence and fostering a positive, productive work environment. Candidates in this position will benefit from a comprehensive three or more weeks of paid store leadership training, designed to prepare them thoroughly for their responsibilities. Additionally, mentorship and ongoing support from the Panda community ensure that assistants have the guidance needed to succeed.
This position offers a generous compensation package with opportunities for bonuses, alongside a robust benefits program that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, as well as life and disability coverage. Associates also enjoy paid time off, holidays, and unique perks such as free meals during shifts, discounts for gyms and theme parks, and educational scholarships. Panda Express not only values the immediate success of its employees but also invests in their long-term career development with continuous leadership training and opportunities for advancement into management roles.
Working at Panda Express requires flexibility, as schedules may include weekends and shift work within a 50-mile radius of the store. The environment is fast-paced, demanding the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and exceptional communication skills. Physical aspects of the job include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in hot kitchen areas where noise levels are high. Despite these challenges, Panda Express offers a dynamic and rewarding career path for motivated individuals who are eager to grow professionally in a supportive, family-oriented setting.
Overall, the Assistant Manager position at Panda Express promises a fulfilling career with an industry leader committed to employee development, community involvement, and delivering quality dining experiences. This role is ideal for those passionate about leadership in the hospitality sector and eager to contribute to a company that values integrity, innovation, and inclusivity.
