Job Description

Panda Express is a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, specializing in American Chinese cuisine. Established in 1983 in Glendale, California, it has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant concept in the United States, boasting nearly 2,300 locations worldwide. The company prides itself on its commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences and fostering an organizational culture that inspires people to improve their lives. This emphasis on family values and community impact underscores Panda Express's dedication not only to its customers but also to its associates and the neighborhoods it serves.

Panda Express is currently seeking experienced and motivated individuals to join their store management team as Assistant Managers. This role is critical in supporting the day-to-day operations of a single store, focusing on the hiring, management, and direction of associates to meet financial goals and ensure an outstanding guest experience. The company emphasizes professional and personal development by providing paid Store Management Leadership Training, hands-on mentorship, and ongoing career guidance within an encouraging Panda community. Aspiring leaders are given a structured 3 or more week leadership training to equip them with the necessary skills to succeed in this dynamic role.

As an Assistant Manager at Panda Express, your responsibilities will extend beyond traditional management duties to include actively fostering an environment where associates can thrive professionally and where guests receive top-tier service consistently. Panda Express rewards its associates with competitive compensation packages, inclusive of bonus opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits plan. These perks include free meals during shifts, medical, vision and dental insurance, a 401K plan with company match, paid time off including holidays and bereavement leave, and numerous other benefits such as discounts on theme parks and gym memberships. The company supports employee education and growth through scholarship programs and continuous leadership development initiatives.

Working at Panda Express means engaging in a fast-paced, challenging but rewarding work environment where physical stamina and adaptability are important. Candidates must be prepared to work in a busy kitchen with varied conditions — standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is flexible in scheduling availability, willing to work within a reasonable geographic radius, and capable of maintaining food safety standards, including Serve Safe certification.

Panda Restaurant Group, the parent company of Panda Express, prides itself on being an Equal Opportunity Employer. It respects diversity in its workforce and complies with all legal standards to support fair employment practices and workplace accommodations. This inclusive approach ensures that all qualified candidates, regardless of background or circumstance, have the opportunity to pursue a fulfilling career with Panda Express. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to grow their management skills in a respected, fast-growing company that values its associates and community impact.
