Job Description

Panda Express is a well-established leader in the fast-casual dining industry, specifically specializing in American Chinese cuisine. Established in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while adhering to strong family values and fostering a supportive community that encourages professional and personal growth among its associates. With a mission centered on inspiring individuals to better their lives, Panda Express is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated and equal opportunity is provided to all employees.

Joining Panda Express as an Assistant Manager presents a rewarding opportunity for experienced leaders eager to contribute to a thriving and dynamic food service environment. The role involves assisting in the management of a single store's operations, focusing on achieving financial goals, ensuring outstanding guest experiences, and building an effective team. Panda Express invests in its management team by providing paid Store Management Leadership Training, mentorship, and ongoing support. New assistant managers participate in a comprehensive training program lasting at least three weeks, designed to prepare them thoroughly for success in their position. This role not only requires strong leadership and operational skills but also offers a clear pathway for career growth and advancement within the company.

The position emphasizes leadership responsibilities such as hiring, managing, and directing store associates to maintain high operational standards and ensure customer satisfaction. Assistant Managers are expected to adapt to flexible schedules, including weekend shifts, and work within stores located up to 50 miles from their residence. The physical demands include the ability to work in hot and fast-paced kitchen environments, standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and maintaining effective communication skills. Assistant Managers also uphold important safety standards, including holding Serve Safe certification to ensure food safety compliance.

Panda Express offers a generous compensation package complete with bonus opportunities and a variety of benefits designed to promote the well-being and development of its associates. These benefits include medical, vision, dental, and optional disability insurance for full-time employees, a 401K plan with company matching, paid time off, holidays, and leave programs. Additional perks include free meals during work shifts, discounts on gym memberships and theme park admissions, continuous career and leadership development opportunities, educational scholarships, and community engagement initiatives.
