Job Description

Panda Express is a leading American Chinese restaurant concept, renowned for its dedication to offering exceptional Asian dining experiences. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant brand in the United States with close to 2,800 locations worldwide. The company prides itself on fostering a workplace culture that emphasizes family values, professional growth, and community involvement. Panda Express is committed to the development of its associates, offering comprehensive training programs, mentorship, and ongoing leadership development initiatives to ensure every team member achieves personal and professional success.

As an Assistant Manager at Panda Express, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operation of a single store. Your core responsibilities will involve hiring, managing, and directing associates to meet financial objectives while delivering outstanding guest experiences. Your leadership and management skills will directly influence the store's success. To prepare you for this vital role, Panda Express provides an intensive Store Management Leadership Training program lasting three or more weeks. This hands-on training equips you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in store operations, team management, and customer service excellence.

This position offers a variety of rewards and benefits, including free meals during working hours, a generous compensation package with opportunities for bonuses, and comprehensive medical, vision, dental, and voluntary insurance coverage for full-time associates. Additional perks include 401K with company match, paid time off including holidays and bereavement leave, discounts at theme parks and gym memberships, and opportunities for continuous education assistance and scholarships. Panda Express also supports a diverse and inclusive workplace, complying fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and emphasizing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, age, disability, or other protected characteristics.

The role demands flexibility, as you will need to work within a store located within a 50-mile radius and maintain a flexible schedule that includes weekends. The physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high noise levels. As part of the team, you will be expected to adapt to changing priorities, manage conflicts effectively, and maintain high standards of food safety, including Serve Safe certification. Panda Express is not just offering a job but a career path with opportunities for growth into management positions, supported by continuous training and leadership development programs.
