Job Description
Panda Express is a leading American Chinese restaurant concept known for its commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned brand of its kind in the United States, with nearly 2,300 locations globally. As part of Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., the company takes great pride in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where associates are encouraged to grow both professionally and personally. Panda Express is dedicated to building an organization grounded in strong family values and a mission to positively impact the lives of its team members and the communities it serves.
This role is for an Assistant Manager who will play a crucial part in the success of a single Panda Express store. The Assistant Manager supports the store's operation by assisting with hiring, managing, and directing associates to consistently meet financial goals while ensuring excellent guest experiences. To prepare candidates for success, Panda Express offers an extensive leadership training program lasting three or more weeks. This training is hands-on and provides the essential knowledge and skills needed to lead a team effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced restaurant environment.
The position emphasizes both operational leadership and the fostering of a positive workplace culture. Panda Express offers a generous compensation package, including bonus opportunities and a wide range of benefits for full-time associates. The benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, disability and cancer income protection insurance, a 401K plan with company matching, paid time off and holidays, and numerous discounts such as theme parks and gym memberships. Furthermore, the company supports ongoing career development with continuous training, educational assistance, scholarships, and opportunities for growth into higher management roles.
Candidates are expected to possess flexibility in their work location and schedule as the position may require commuting within a 50-mile radius and working weekends. The role demands physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and adapt to a fast-paced, often noisy kitchen atmosphere. The Assistant Manager must also have strong communication skills and the ability to manage conflicts effectively under changing priorities.
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer that embraces diversity and inclusiveness, ensuring no discrimination based on any protected characteristic. The company complies with all laws regarding workplace accommodations and encourages applicants with disabilities to request reasonable accommodations to participate fully in the hiring process. This commitment to inclusivity and associate well-being reinforces Panda Express's position as a supportive employer dedicated to nurturing talent and promoting long-term career success.
