Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree plus one year of experience in a related field, or any combination of education and/or experience related to the position classification summary totaling a minimum of three years
  • First Aid and CPR certification (can be attained within the first six months of employment)
  • UVU Driver Certification (can be attained within the first six months of employment)

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree plus one year of related experience, or any combination of education and/or experience totaling a minimum of three years
  • Knowledge of outdoor equipment, recreational locations, and business management principles
  • Knowledge of social media tools and optimization
  • Proficient in POS systems, CSI, Word, Adobe, Illustrator, and Excel
  • Skills in developing spreadsheets and budgets
  • Demonstrated professionalism and leadership working with diverse groups including vendors, students, staff, and community
  • Ability to practice good judgment and decision-making
  • Ability to lead by example and supervise employees
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

Job Duties

  • Assist in supervising, training, and evaluating shop employees
  • Instruct employees on shop policies and procedures and training methods for weekly meetings on sales, merchandise, returns, cash handling, trip information, and POS systems
  • Assist shop manager with daily operations, deposits, tracking, equipment inventory, customer service, adventure learning excursion information, POS system, and maintenance
  • Assist in store media presence
  • Assist with developing shop budgets and purchasing equipment and office supplies
  • Ensure proper pricing and marketing of inventory
  • Maintain a list of suppliers, company representatives, and contacts
  • Update social media, promotions, monthly rental specials, website, and marketing for the Outdoor Adventure Center
  • Manage Rentals and Retail, Adventure Learning Excursions, and the Climbing Wall
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
