Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • three years experience in food and beverage culinary or related professional area
  • or two year degree in food service management hotel and restaurant management hospitality business administration or related major
  • one year experience in food and beverage culinary or related professional area
  • excellent communication skills

  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • budget management skills
  • ability to operate departmental equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with three years experience in food and beverage culinary or related professional area
  • or two year degree from an accredited university in food service management hotel and restaurant management hospitality business administration or related major with one year experience in food and beverage culinary or related professional area
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong leadership abilities
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to manage budgets and staffing levels
  • proficiency in operating food and beverage department equipment

Job Duties

  • Assists in ordering food and beverage supplies cleaning supplies and uniforms
  • supervises daily food and beverage shift operation ensuring compliance with policies standards and procedures
  • supports and supervises a monthly self inspection program
  • operates all department equipment and reports malfunctions
  • supervises staffing levels to meet guest service operational needs and financial objectives
  • encourages and builds mutual trust respect and cooperation among team members
  • develops specific goals and plans to prioritize organize and accomplish work
  • celebrates and fosters decisions that result in successes as well as failures
  • communicates areas needing attention to staff and follows up for understanding
  • coordinates cleaning program in all food and beverage areas identifying trends and recommending improvements
  • follows property specific second effort and recovery plan
  • stays readily available and approachable for all team members
  • demonstrates knowledge of brand specific service culture
  • provides services above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention
  • serves as a role model demonstrating appropriate behaviors
  • manages day to-day operations ensuring quality standards and customer expectations are met
  • takes proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns
  • sets a positive example for guest relations and stays available and approachable for guests
  • reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
  • responds timely to customer service department requests
  • provides information to supervisors and coworkers by telephone written form email or in person
  • analyzes information and evaluates results to choose best solutions and solve problems
  • performs hourly job function if necessary
