Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 3 years experience in restaurant or hospitality management
  • proven ability to lead and develop staff

Job Duties

  • Lead hostess pre-shift to set the tone for service
  • review blocking sheet with full team during main pre-shift
  • assist with front door expectations including blocking when anchor is plotting during service
  • actively involve in seating guests at door
  • check guests in and communicate wait times or rebook times
  • identify busy seating times and communicate with team for table turnover and rebooking
  • manage large party reservations and Teppan reservations coordinating guest counts and times with chef teams
  • identify VIPs and assign appropriate tables
  • monitor turn times and communicate with servers and managers
  • distribute important OpenTable chits including VIPs, comps, and credit card authorizations
  • communicate adequately if assistant manager needs to step away from the door
  • manage day-to-day restaurant operations according to policies and procedures
  • establish and administer training programs including new employee orientation
  • direct development and administration of controls for all phases of the outlet
  • coordinate maintenance and development of high-quality food preparation and service procedures
  • maintain efficient scheduling to ensure service standards with minimal man-hours
  • enforce safety policies and procedures and ensure hazard elimination
  • promptly address and resolve customer complaints
  • assist in compiling budgets, variance reports, management reports, and inventories
  • monitor employee compliance with policies and procedures
  • oversee follow-up work to prevent recurrence of errors
  • guide and instruct personnel on performance
  • prepare and coordinate periodic performance reviews
  • recommend hiring, promotion, demotion, release of personnel, and wage adjustments
  • ensure closing duties are completed and the restaurant is reset for the next day
  • interview recommended candidates
  • handle fast-paced environment and multiple tasks under time constraints while maintaining a positive and approachable leadership presence
