The role of Kitchen Assistant Manager at Sheetz is designed for individuals who excel in organizing and managing complex kitchen operations while leading a team effectively. This position plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that orders are produced to perfection, maintaining food service quality, inventory management, customer service, and smooth kitchen execution. The Kitchen Assistant Manager will actively support the Store Manager by managing daily food service programs including product preparation, promotion, production, service, and sales, while also stepping up as the acting leader during the Store Manager’s absence. This role offers an additional $1.50 per hour for those working the night shift from 10pm to 6am, recognizing the importance of overnight support.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Work experience in a food service or retail environment preferred
- Ability to supervise and lead a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Ability to handle customer service situations
- Ability to manage inventory and control costs
- Must be able to work night shifts, including 10pm to 6am
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two-year degree in a business related field preferred
- Successful completion of certification testing as needed
- One year experience supervising others in a fast food, restaurant, retail or convenience operation preferred
- ServeSafe certification
- Any other legally required certification
Job Duties
- Back-up the Store Manager by giving your thoughts on recruitment, selection, training, and performance management of your store work fam
- Provide input into scheduling
- Handle customer questions, complaints and concerns timely
- Keep an eye on work fam compliance with Sheetz policies, procedures and programs
- Follow-up with responses from customer service shops, QA audits, secret shops and SMG surveys
- Call the shots in the kitchen on recipes, proper portioning, and product rotation
- Create build-to’s and follow up on orders and store organization
- Keep the goods stocked by managing inventory and identifying waste elimination opportunities
- Impact cost savings by monitoring waste, expense and variance
- Oversee food service rollouts
