Established in 1937, Sheraton has built a reputation as a place of gathering and connection for guests worldwide. As a global leader in the hotel industry, Sheraton offers a rich blend of culture, talent, and experiences, making it an exceptional workplace for those passionate about delivering outstanding guest service. The hotel is situated at 500 Canal Street, a prime location that provides guests easy access to many of New Orleans' iconic attractions and vibrant culture. Sheraton emphasizes inclusivity, valuing the unique perspectives and backgrounds of its employees, and fosters a work environment where diversity is celebrated. As an equal opportunity employer, Sheraton ensures a respectful and supportive atmosphere for all associates, regardless of disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics under applicable law.
The position available is a full-time entry-level management role within the Front Office team at Sheraton New Orleans. This management position plays a critical role in leading and assisting with the daily operational functions of several front office departments, including Bell/Door Staff, Switchboard, and Guest Services/Front Desk. The pay for this position ranges from $25.77 to $28.37 per hour, and it is bonus eligible, presenting an opportunity for financial rewards based on performance.
This role focuses on providing excellent guest and employee satisfaction while meeting the financial and operational targets of the hotel. The successful candidate will help ensure the smooth operation of the front office by supporting the Front Desk Manager and other leadership roles. This includes activities like supervising the front desk shift, addressing employee concerns, resolving guest complaints, training staff, and assisting with administrative duties. The role demands strong leadership and interpersonal skills, because the candidate will be expected to lead by example and promote an environment of mutual respect and cooperation among team members. Flexibility in performing various duties of front office employees when needed is essential to maintain seamless service delivery.
The candidate will be responsible for monitoring staffing levels to meet operational needs and supporting the front desk in maximizing room revenue and occupancy by implementing same-day selling procedures. The role also involves participating in departmental meetings, communicating goals effectively, and striving for continuous improvement in service quality and financial outcomes. Handling guest feedback through tracking systems and comment card analysis to improve service offerings is another critical aspect of this role.
A strong focus on exceptional customer service sets this position apart, requiring the individual to go above and beyond in guest relations to ensure satisfaction and retention. The manager will coach, mentor, and provide feedback to staff, helping to develop their skills and performance. Assisting with employee evaluations, recognition programs, and ongoing training initiatives is also part of the job responsibility. Additionally, the role contributes to supporting various projects and policies, such as customer recognition programs and ensuring adherence to credit policies.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced position ideal for someone eager to build a management career in hospitality within a globally recognized hotel brand committed to inclusiveness, quality service, and operational excellence. If you are a proactive team player with a passion for hospitality and leadership, Sheraton New Orleans offers a compelling opportunity to grow and thrive in your career journey.
