The Prepared Foods Assistant Team Leader – Front of House (FOH) role is essential in maintaining smooth, efficient, and high-quality operations within the Prepared Foods Department. This position supports the daily management of multiple food stations such as the pizza counter, carving station, showcases, food bars, and grab-and-go sections, ensuring that all displays are fresh, fully stocked, and impeccably clean. Serving as a leader in delivering exceptional customer service, this role actively manages front-of-house team performance while working closely with back-of-house leadership to ensure seamless collaboration and operational success. The Assistant Team Leader also plays a pivotal role in catering execution, both in-house and external, contributing to the department's reputation for outstanding service and product quality. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven leadership experience in foodservice or retail
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Comfortable managing catering operations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs and maneuver carts up to 100 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in foodservice or retail, with a focus on Customer Service and team development
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, labeling, and product rotation practices
  • Catering experience and comfort in leading both in-house and external food service execution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • ServSafe Manager Certification preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break
  • Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push/pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted

Job Duties

  • Partner with the Team Leader to deliver a seamless FOH experience and cohesive department leadership
  • Provide outstanding Customer Service and model best-in-class service standards for the team
  • Oversee the daily operation of FOH revenue centers, ensuring full, fresh, and visually appealing displays
  • Lead catering production and service, building strong relationships with catering Guests
  • Interview, hire, train, and develop Team Members, providing clear expectations and consistent feedback
  • Support scheduling and labor management in alignment with budget and department needs
  • Address Guest and Team Member concerns with professionalism and empathy
  • Collaborate with Store Leadership on performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary processes
  • Maintain all food safety, sanitation, and operational procedures in accordance with Plum Market policies
