This opportunity is for a full-time management position in Event Management at The Inn at Opryland. The role is focused on assisting with the leadership of banquet staff to guarantee the seamless execution of events aligned with the hotel's high standards. With a pay range from $25.77 to $34.62 per hour and bonus eligibility, this role offers both competitive compensation and the chance to advance within a dynamic and supportive environment. The Event Manager will support departmental operations by maintaining equipment and inventory, ensuring sanitation standards are met, and managing service staff scheduling while maximizing profitability and guest satisfaction.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Ability to work full time in a management role
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage departmental inventories and assets
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety procedures
- Ability to lead banquet teams and deliver excellent customer service
- Availability to attend and participate in meetings
- Capability to handle guest feedback and complaints professionally
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Knowledge of food and beverage service operations
- Ability to manage and lead a team effectively
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Familiarity with inventory management and scheduling
Job Duties
- Assist in managing departmental inventories and assets including par levels and maintenance of equipment
- Maintain attendance log for banquet employees
- Maintain and enforce established sanitation levels
- Adhere to and reinforce all standards, policies, and procedures (SOPs, LSOPs, etc.)
- Ensure employee awareness of the event phase portion of the Meeting Planner Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores
- Order supplies for the department (e.g., china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props, and other service equipment needs)
- Use banquet beverage use records to guide banquet beverage supervisor in controlling liquor costs, managing the banquet beverage perpetual inventory and requisitioning liquor
- Understand the impact banquet operations has on the overall success of an event and manage activities to maximize customer satisfaction
- Assist in scheduling banquet service staff to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits
- Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings
- Lead shifts and actively participate in the servicing of events
- Apply and continually broaden knowledge of food and wine pairings and cutting edge cuisine, and overall event presentation
- Set a positive example for guest relations
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
- Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
- Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
- Strive to improve service performance
- Support a departmental orientation program for employees to receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job
- Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters
- Observe service behaviors of employees and provide feedback to individuals
- Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
- Communicate and execute departmental and property emergency procedures and ensure staff are trained in safety procedures
