Job Description
Little General Stores is a well-established company specializing in retail and branded food service operations. With a strong commitment to delivering quality products and excellent customer experiences, Little General Stores operates a network of stores that offer a variety of groceries and food service options to meet the needs of local communities. The company prides itself on maintaining high standards in customer service and operational excellence, supported by a team of motivated and trained employees. As part of its expansion and operational excellence strategy, Little General Stores seeks to enhance its branded food service restaurants by appointing a Branded Food Service Assistant Manager to assist in daily operational management and ensure the continued success of the franchise.
The Branded Food Service Assistant Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Food Service Manager by overseeing the daily operations of a branded food service restaurant. This role focuses heavily on delivering exceptional customer service, meeting sales and profitability goals, and adhering to company policies and branded franchise standards. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting with staffing to ensure the team comprises friendly, positive, and well-trained individuals, enabling a customer-first environment. They will execute management tasks as delegated by the Food Service Manager, including resolving customer complaints and empowering the team to provide outstanding quality, friendliness, cleanliness, accuracy, and speed of service.
This position requires the Assistant Manager to take on responsibilities in safety and security for both employees and customers, reinforce food safety standards, and maintain a clean, organized, and inviting restaurant atmosphere. They will also assist with purchasing food, beverages, and supplies to guarantee product quality standards are consistently met. Team development is pivotal in this role; the Assistant Manager should use branded franchise training tools to effectively develop and prepare team members and managers for career growth and promotion.
Additional duties include maintaining preventive maintenance of equipment, executing marketing and local store marketing plans to boost customer retention, training staff in cash control and credit card security, and contributing to performance evaluations. The Assistant Manager will also ensure adherence to administrative and procedural guidelines. This is a physically active role requiring standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds, alongside various other physical activities. This hands-on position demands energetic leadership, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to drive team success and meet company objectives within the branded food service franchise environment.

Job Duties
- Assist with staffing with the friendliest, most positive, trained and eager to help people
- Perform management duties as described in the Manager job description and the operations manual, as delegated by the Manager
- Assist with ensuring that every customer leaves happy and all complaints are resolved
- Train, trust and empower team to provide outstanding quality, friendliness, cleanliness, accuracy and speed of service
- Assist with ensuring the safety and security of all employees and customers
- Assist with attaining the restaurant's Annual Operating Plan
- Assist with ensuring consistent delivery of safe food on every shift by enforcing the branded franchise safety standards
- Assist with ensuring consistent execution of systems to maintain a clean, organized restaurant, prepared to deliver the best dining experience possible
- Assist with the purchase of food, beverages and supplies as needed and oversee their preparation to insure that every product served meets our high standards of product quality
- Maintain high standards by operating in accordance with established performance, profits and operating standards as outlined in the branded franchise operations manual
- Use branded franchise training tools to effectively develop and prepare team members and managers for growth opportunities
- Identify and train shift managers
- Demonstrate good working knowledge of all equipment, and assume responsibility for preventive maintenance of a restaurant
- Assist with ensuring all marketing plans are executed on time and accurately to build repeat customer visits, including approved Local Store Marketing
- Provide leadership by engendering excitement, enthusiasm, a positive mental attitude and commitment toward Company objectives
- Assist with training all employees on general cash control systems and general credit card security and maintaining a secure restaurant environment for credit card data
- Assist with completion of semi-annual performance appraisals for all team members
- Responsible for administrative requirements and execution of all procedural guidelines
