The role of Assistant Manager at KFC is a critical position that supports the Restaurant General Manager in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations and ensuring alignment with brand standards. As an Assistant Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving your team’s success by acting as a role model, trainer, and mentor. You will be responsible for maintaining an environment where customers receive consistent, high-quality service and team members are motivated, trained properly, and given the recognition they deserve. This position involves leadership responsibilities such as managing employee relations, supporting recruitment and hiring efforts, and assisting with profit and loss management.

This role demands a balance of operational excellence and people management, with the Assistant Manager stepping in as the acting leader in the General Manager’s absence. You will contribute directly to the restaurant’s financial and operational performance through diligent oversight of cash controls, inventory, labor management, and security procedures. Additionally, you will ensure that health and safety standards are consistently maintained to provide a safe environment for both employees and customers.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Assist with profit and loss management including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance and labor management
  • Ensure all employees receive proper training and resources
  • Champion KFC's culture and values, promoting equity, inclusion and belonging in the restaurant
  • Lead efforts in individual and team recognition, collaboration and motivation
  • Identify and recruit exceptional talent
  • Possess strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals, disciplinary actions and employee motivation
  • Adhere to corporate policies, procedures and Occupational Health and Food Safety standards

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the KFC Connect Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
  • Oversee Team Members' adherence to shift responsibilities and maintain high food safety standards
  • Take charge of restaurant operations in the Restaurant General Manager's absence
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant General Manager in assessing team performance, providing ongoing constructive and positive feedback
  • Address employee relations issues as they arise, determine immediate resolutions, or escalate to the Restaurant General Manager when necessary
  • Assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing and hiring Team Members while driving a culture of equity, inclusion and belonging
  • Assist with profit and loss management including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance and labor management
  • Review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
  • Support the Restaurant General Manager in facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed
